I have decided to shoot a lot less this time around. I’m enjoying it more. Spending more time just effing around with my friends (see above). Have a great weekend.

Some celly snaps from the weekend

I put new tires on the moto about 3 weeks ago and have not had nice weather during the weekend since then, until last weekend. The new tires, sunshine and temps culminated in one of the best Bear Mountain runs I have had so far this summer. I wish that I would have taken a real camera with me.

GS Weekend Part 1

Weekend before last, some friends of mine arranged to borrow some bikes from BMW and take a ride upstate. I was lucky enough to be included in the activities. We were all riding various iterations of the GS model. I had a 2014 R1200GS. This is probably the biggest motorcycle that I have ever ridden. For its size and weight, the bike is surprisingly fast and nimble. We left the island of Manhattan around noon on Saturday and rode just under 400 miles to Lake Placid. We left Lake Placid early Sunday AM and returned to NYC by a different and slightly longer route. We came back covered in insect carnage and bearing CF cards full of images from the adventure. I took a Canon 5d Mk III with a 50MM f 1/1.2L and the Fujifilm X100 S. Since I snapped so many photos over the two day ride, I’m going to break them up into a few different posts in chronological order.

Domino Sugar Factory (Part 2)

Here are some more images from inside of the old Domino Sugar factory. In the previous post, I focused on the pieces associated with the art installation that opened last Saturday. In this post, I’m sharing photos of the actual structure, which for me was as interesting as the art exhibit that was contained therein.

Domino Sugar Factory (Part 1)

I popped by the old Domino Sugar factory on Saturday to see the new Kara Walker installation. The Domino Sugar factory is slated to be razed in the coming months to make room for luxury condos. I was very excited to be able to check out the inside of this industrial icon. It was like stepping into a time capsule of old industrial Brooklyn. Oh yeah, and the art was pretty interesting. In this post, I’m including my images of the pieces placed by Walker. I’ll write a follow-up post which will focus more on the structure. Enjoy.

Noell S. Oszvald

I had seen this woman’s work before on Tumblr uncredited. I was pretty happy last ween when Juxtapoz featured Noell S. Oszvald, and included some of the images that I seen an appreciated sans attribution. Her stuff is pretty amazing. She manipulates self portraits into the final image that you see. Extremely clever and ultra-creative.

Museum of Natural History

Reconnected with some old friends over the weekend, and was able to meet two of their kids for the first time. It all happened at the Museum of Natural History. Here are some snaps from along the way.
